As part of an effort to release more tools we’ve used internally, we’ve been working to update many of our tools. One application we’ve not updated in quite a while was the BlueNox Scan iOS application.
The new 1.2.36 version that’s up and coming is a huge redesign of the original BlueNox app and adds a ton of features we’ve wanted ourselves
Some of the really exciting features we’ve added include:
- Revamped interface and visuals as well as a new icon
- Support for iPad
- Radar Mode for the RSSI to help make finding devices easier
- New device scan sorting options
- Significant timing information for device behavior that allows you understand how the device behaves and when it does things
- Device Connection history allowing you to see all the events of a connection even after the fact
- Support for L2CAP Connection Oriented Channels
- Advertising Interval detection and estimation
- Peripheral Cloning Capability
- Advertising data and packet analysis to help make analyzing a device’s advertisement easier for both data and time
- Performance enhancements and other quality of life improvements
This is the major list and there’s a lot more. If you used BlueNox Scan before, you’ll probably love the changes since they make understanding how devices behave much easier.
Some of the features we’ve added aren’t available on any Bluetooth LE scanner
All of these features make BlueNox Scan an extremely useful tool for developing and discovering Bluetooth LE devices.
